In Latin, the word panax means "cure-all". Panax pseudoginseng is not an adaptogen like the better known Panax species, but it is famous as a hemostatic herb that both invigorates and builds blood.

FUNCTIONS
GROUP: Regulating Blood- Styptic
1. Resolve bruises, analgesic, antibiotic effect.[2]
RAW- Disperse coagulation, arrest bleeding heal.[1]COOKED - Tone up Blood.[1]
INDICATIONS
1. Bleeding from external trauma.[2]
2. Stomach or duodenal pain- use 3 g for pain and to prevent bleeding, once or twice a day only for a few days.[2]
3. Stomach and Lung heat leading to Hematemesis.[2]
4. Avalanche bleeding- menus dark.[2]
RAW  1. Discharge of blood from mouth, vomiting of blood, chest pain, excessive menstruation, swollen pain due to fall.[1]
COOKED 1. Loss of blood, anemia.[1]
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Over use will damage Stomach Qi- taken with rice gruel or white wine- 30 ml warm wine.[2] Blood deficiency Heat.[2]
