FUNCTIONS
GROUP: Qi Regulating
1. Diffuses and redirects the Lung Qi downward, alleviates wheezing, transforms Phlegm, clears Heat.
INDICATIONS
1. Asthma due to Phlegm Heat: cough with thick yellow sputum, wheezing, flushed face, irritability, thrist, dyspnea, may also be acompanied by chills and fever. T- red or normal tongue with greasy yellow coat. P- rapid.
APPLICATIONS: Acute and chronic asthma or bronchitis, emphysema, and other chronic obstructive airway diseases.
INGREDIENTS
Ginkgo biloba- 白果 Bái guǒ- Ginkgo seed
Prunus armeniaca- 杏仁 Xìng rén- Sweet Apricot kernel
Platycodon grandiflorus 桔梗 Jié gěng- Balloon flower root- Platycodon
Morus alba - 桑白皮 Sāng bái pí- Dry Mulberry root bark
Perilla fructescens 紫苏子 Zǐ sū zǐ   Perilla fruit
Scutellaria baicalensis- 黄芩 Huáng Qín- Baical Scullcap root
Glycyrrhiza uralensis-甘草 Gān cǎo-  Chinese Licorice
Pinellia ternata- 半夏 Bàn xià- Pinellia
Aster tataricus- 紫菀  Zǐ Wǎn- Purple aster
Stemona tuberosa- 百部 Bǎi Bù- Stemona root
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Cold syndromes, Qi and Yang Deficiency with T- pale and P- weak.
COMMENTS: For acute bronchial conditions Western medicine should be used in combination with TCM.
