FUNCTIONS
GROUP: Exterior Dispelling- Cooling
1. Dispels Blood stasis, releases exterior Wind, nourishes the Yin
INDICATIONS: Blood stasis or exterior pathogens in the muscle layer: Pain and discomfort of the chest, headaches, stiff neck, general body aches, dry mouth T-normal or red tipped P- thready or ueven
APPLICATIONS: Coronary heart disease (in remission stage), prevention of stroke, chronic stiff neck, or general body aches caused by common cold or influenza.
INGREDIENTS
Pueraria pseudohirsuta- 葛根 Gé gēn- Pueraria, Kudzu vine
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Pregnancy
COMMENTS: A modern use for GE GEN is to replace aspirin in the treatment of coronary heart disease in the remission stage (and thus avoid the gastric and renal side effects of aspirin).
