FUNCTIONS
1. Clear Lung Phlegm Heat, Nourishes Lung Yin, alleviates coughing
INDICATIONS
1. Phlegm and Heat in Lung with damage to Lung Yin: cough with small amounts of thick, sticky sputum which is difficult to experctorate and may contain blood, dry mouth and throat thirst, sore thorat which may also be swollen, hoarse voice, low-grade or tidal fever, laboured breathing. T- red with thin dry yellow coating. P- rapid or thready and rapid.
APPLICATION: Bronchitis, pulmonary tuberculosis, pharyngitis, pneumonia, emphysema.
INGREDIENTS
Fritillaria cirrhosa- 川贝母  Chuān Bèi Mǔ- Sichuan fritillaria bulb
Zingiber officinale- 生姜 Shēng jiāng- Fresh Ginger rhizome
Lophatherum gracile- 淡竹叶 Dàn Zhú Yè- Bamboo Grass
Ziziphus jujuba, Z. vulgaris  大枣 Dà Zǎo- Large date
Platycodon grandiflorus 桔梗 Jié gěng- Balloon flower root- Platycodon
Ophiopogon japonicus 麦门冬 Mài mén dōng- Lilyturf root
Morus alba- 桑白皮 Sāng bái pí- Dry Mulberry root bark
Prunus armeniaca- 杏仁 Xìng rén- Sweet Apricot kernel
Citrus aurantium- 枳实  Zhǐ shí- Immature bitter orange
Angelica dahurica- 白芷 Bái zhĭ- Angelica root
Poria cocos  茯苓 Fú líng- Hoelen wood fungus
Schizandra chinensis, Schisandra chinensis 五味子  Wǔ Wèi Zi- Magnolia vine fruit
Scutellaria baicalensis- 黄芩 Huáng Qín- Baical Scullcap root
Glycyrrhiza uralensis- 甘草 Gān cǎo- Chinese Licorice
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Phlegm Heat in Lungs with no damage to Yin. Phlegm patterns without Heat.
COMMENTS: This formula is designed for mixed conditions of half Excess (Phegm and Heat in the Lung) and half Deficiency (Lung Yin Deficiency).
