Ki 1 Yongquan**
FUNCTIONS: Tonify Yin, pacify Fire, calm the He and
Spirit, rendering the effect of resuscitation. Emergency point
(bled)
Opens sensory orifices
INDICATIONS
1. Convulsion.. Dizziness. Infantile, loss of consciousness. Insomnia. Stroke.
Seizures. Psychosis. Mental illness.
2. Headache at vertex.. Hypertension.
3. Sore throat. Dryness of the tongue. Aphonia.
4. Paralysis of the legs. Feverish sensation of the sole.
4. Dyschezia (Painful or difficult bowel movements).
5. Blurring of vision.
6. Dysuria.
7. Shock. Heat exhaustion.
LOCATION: In the depression appearing on the sole when the
foot is in plantar flexion, approximately at the junction of the anterior and
middle third of the sole.
METHOD: perendicularly 0.3 -0.5 inch (Ess).
Ki 2 Rangu**
FUNCTIONS: Pacify Fire, ease the throat, strengthen
Yin Qiao Mai. Eliminates Heat to cool the Xue.
INDICATIONS
1. Irregular menstruation..Pruritus vulvae. Prolapse of uterus. Seminal emission.
Cystitis.
2. Hemoptysis. Pharyngitis.
3. Diarrhea.
4. Swelling and pain of the dorsum of foot.
5. Diabetes.
6. Tetanus.
LOCATION: Anterior and inferior to the medial mallious, in
the depression on the
lower border of the tuberosity of the navicular bone.
METHOD: Perp 0.3 inch (Ess).
Ki 3 Taixi**
FUNCTIONS: Tonify Qi of Ki, pacify Empty Fire, promote
the function of Uterus, strengthen the lower back and knees. Much used to tonify
Ki.
INDICATIONS
1. Irregular menstruation.. Seminal emission. Impotence. Frequency of micturition.
Nephritis. Cystitis Spermatorrhea. Enuresis.
2.Pain in the lower back.. Paralysis of lower limb (up-turned foot). Pain in
the sole of foot.
3. Toothache.. Sore throat. Hemoptysis. Asthma. Chronic laryngitis. Tinnitus.
Emphysema.
4. Deafness.
5. Insomnia. Neurasthenia.
6. Alopecia.
LOCATION: In the depression between the medial malleolus, in
the depression on the lower border of the tuberosity of the navicular bone.
METHOD: Perpendicular 0.3 inch (Ess).
Ki 6 Zhaohai**
FUNCTIONS: Eliminate Heat, calm the Spirit, promote the function
of the uterus, clear Yin Qiao Mai. Together with Lieque(Lu 7) tonifies Yin,
eases the throat. Used to tonify Lu Yin in chronic cough.
INDICATIONS
1. Irregular menstruation.. prolapse of uterus. pruritus vulvae. Frequency of
micturition.
2. Seizures.. Insomnia. Neurasthenia. Psychosis.
3. Sore throat. Pharyngitis. Tonsillitis.
4.Hernia.
LOCATION: 1 cun below the medial malleollus.
METHOD: Perp 0.3 - 0.5 inch (Ess).
Ki 7 Fuliu**
FUNCTIONS: Regulate Ki Qi, eliminate Damp-Heat, tonify
back. Much used for sweating in combination with Yinxi(He 6).
INDICATIONS
1. Swelling of leg. Muscular atrophy. Weakness and paralysis of foot. Low back
pain.
2. Nephritis. Orchitis. Functional uterine bleeding. Urinary tract infection.
Leukorrhea.
3. Edema. Night sweating..Spontaneous sweating.
4. Diarrhea. Borborygmus. Abdominal distension.
LOCATION: 2 cun directly above Taixi (Ki 3), on the anterior
border of tendo calcaneus.
METHOD: Perp 0.3 - 0.5 inch (Ess).
Ki 9 Zhubin**
FUNCTIONS: Tonify Di Qi, calm the mind, tonify Yin Wei
Mai. Excellent in conjunction with Yin Wei Mai.
INDICATIONS
1. Pain in the medial aspect of the leg. Spasm of the gastrocnemius muscle.
2. Nephritis. Cystitis. Orchitis. Pelvic inflammatory disease.
3. Mental disorders. Seizures. Psychosis.
LOCATION: On the line drawn from Taixi (Ki3) to Yingu (Ki10),
at the lower end of the belly of the gastrocnemius in the medial aspect, about
5 cun above Taixi (Ki 3).
METHOD: Perp 0.5 - 0.8 inch (Ess).

Ki 4- Dazhong *
INDICATIONS
1. Dysuria..
2. Pain in heel.. Lumbosacral region.
3. Asthma.. Hemoptysis. Soreness in pharynx.
4. Neurasthenia. Hysteria.
5. Malaria.
LOCATION: Posterior and inferior to the medial malliolus, in
the depression medial
to the attachment of tendocalcaneus.
METHOD: Perp 0.3 inch (Ess).
Ki 5- Shuiquan*
INDICATIONS
1. Irregular menstuation. Dysmenorrhea .Amenorrhea. Prolapse of uterus.
2. Blurring of vision. Myopia.
3. Dysuria.
LOCATION: 1 cun directly below Taixi (Ki 3), in the depression
anterior and
superior to the medial side of the tuberosity of the calcaneum.
METHOD: Perp 0.4 inch (Ess).
Ki 8 Jiaoxin*
INDICATIONS
1. Diarrhea.. Constipation..
2. Irregular menstruation..Abnormal uterine bleeding.. Prolapse of uterus. pain
and swelling of testis.
3. Pain on the medial aspect of lower limb.
4. Retention of urine.
LOCATION: 2 cun above Taixi (Ki 3), 0.5 cun anterior
to Fuliu (Ki 7), posterior to
the medial border of tibia.
METHOD: Perp 0.4 inch (Ess).
Ki 10 Yingu*
FUNCTIONS: Tonify Kidney, dispel Heat, regulate and soothe
lower jiao.
INDICATIONS
1. Pain in the medial aspect of the thigh and knee. Arthritis of the knee.
2. Impotence. Abnormal uterine bleeding. Ideases of the urogential system.
3. Hernia.
LOCATION: On the medial side of the popliteal fossa, level
with Weizhong (UB40), between the tendons of semitendinosis and semimembranosus
when the knee is flexed.
METHOD: Perp 0.8 - 1 inch (Ess).
Ki 11 Henggu*
INDICATIONS
1. Impotence.. Spermatorrhea.. Pain in the external genitalia. Retention of
urine. Urethritis. Incontinence of urine.
2. Hernia.
LOCATION: 0.5 cun below the umbilicus, on the superior border
of symphysis pubis, 0.5 cun lateral to Qugu (Ren2).
METHOD: Perp 0.5 - 0.8 inch (Ess).
Ki 12 Dahe**
INDICATIONS
1. Leukorrhea.. Spermatorrhea.. Neuralgia of the spermatic cord. Pain in the
external genitalia.
LOCATION: 4 cun below the umbilicus, 0.5 cun lateral to Zhongji
(Ren3).
METHOD: Perp 0.5 - 1 inch (Ess).
Ki 13 Qixue*
INDICATIONS
1. Irregular menstruation.. Leukorrhea. Sterility. Urinary tract infection.
2. Diarrhea..
LOCATION: 3 cun below the umbilicus, .5 cun lateral to Guanyuan
(Ren4).
METHOD: Perp 0.5 - 1 inch (Ess).
Ki 14 Siman*
INDICATIONS
1. Diarrhea..
2. Irregular menstruation.. Uterine bleeding. Postpartum abdominal pain. Leukorreha.
Sterility. Urinary tract infection.

to Shimen (Ren5).

INDICATIONS

Ki 16 Huangshu*
INDICATIONS
1. Abdominal pain. Vomiting. Abdominal distension.
Constipation. Stomach spasms. Pain of hernia. Enteritis. Habitual constipation

LOCATION: 0.5 cun lateral to the centre of the umbilicus.
METHOD: Perp 0.5 - 1 inch (Ess).
Ki 17 Shangqu*
INDICATIONS
1. Fullness of abdomen. Diarrhea. Constipation. Stomache-ache. Colic. Peritonitis.
LOCATION: 2 cun above the umbilicus, 0.5 cun lateral to Xiawan
(Ren10).
METHOD: Perp .5 - 1 inch (Ess).
Ki 18 Shiguan*
INDICATIONS
1. Abdominal pain.. Constipation..Vomiting.
2. Hiccoughs. Spasms of esophagus.
3. Postpartum abdominal pain.
LOCATION: 3 cun above the umbilicus, 0.5 cun lateral
to Jianli (Ren11).
METHOD: Perp 0.5 - 1 inch (Ess).
Ki 19 Yindu*
INDICATIONS
1. Abdominal distension and pain.. Borborygmus.
2. Emphysema. Pleurisy.
3. Malaria.
LOCATION: 4 cun above the umbilicus, 0.5 cun lateral to Zhongwan
(Ren12).
METHOD: Perp 0.5 - 1 inch (Ess).
Ki 20 Abdomen Tonggu*
INDICATIONS
1. Vomiting.. Abdominal pain and distention. Indigestion.
Diarrhea.
2. Stiff neck. Intercostal neuralgia.
3. Seizures.
4. Palpiations.
LOCATION: 5 cun above the umbilicus, 0.5 cun lateral to Shangwan
(Ren13).
METHOD: Perp 0.5 - 1 inch (Ess).
Ki 21 Youmen*
INDICATIONS
1. Abdominal pain. Vomiting. Diarrhea. Distended stomach. Stomach spasms. Chronic
gastritis.
2. Intercostal neuralgia.
LOCATION: 6 cun above the umbilicus, 0.5 cun lateral to Juque
(Ren14).
METHOD: Perp 0.3-0.7 inch (Ess). Straight insertion 0.7 - 1
unit (Sha). CAUTION Avoid deep insertion which might puncture
the Liver (Sha)
Ki 22 Bulang*
INDICATIONS
1. Cough. Asthma. Pleurisy. Rhinitis. Bronchitis.
2. Gastritis.
3. Intercostal neuralgia.
LOCATION: In the 5th intercostal space, 2 cun lateral to the
Ren Channel.
METHOD: Obliquely 0.3-0.5 inch (Ess). Slanted insertion
0.5 - 0.8 unit. CAUTION Avoid deep insertion (Sha)
Ki 23 Shenfeng*
INDICATIONS :
1. Cough. Asthma. Pleurisy. Bronchitis.
2. Mastitis (Ess,Sha)
3 . Intercostal neuralgia. Sensation of fullness in the chest and hypochondriac
region.
LOCATION: In the 4th intercostal space, 2 cun lateral to the
Ren Channel.
