Primary Points

Ht 1- Jiquan **
INDICATIONS
1. Cold and pain of the elbow and arm. Arthritis of the shoulder. Inflammation of the shoulder.  Intercostal neuralgia.
2. Pain in the costal and cardiac regions. Angina pectoris.
3. Scrofula.
LOCATION: In the centre of the axilla, on the medial side of the axillary artery.
METHOD: Perp 0.5-1 inch. Avoid the artery (Ess).

Ht 3 Shaohai **
FUNCTIONS:  Regulate Heart Qi, calms spirit, relax tendons, clears Jingluo.
INDICATIONS
1. Numbness of the arm. Hand tremor. Contracture of the elbow. Pain in the axilla and hypochondriac region. Intercostal neuralgia. Ulnar nerve neuralgia. Numbness of the forearm.
Diseases of the elbow.
2. Cardiac pain.
3. Scrofula. Lymphadenitis.
4. Psychosis.
5. Neurasthenia.
LOCATION: When the elbow is flexed, the point is at the medial end of the transverse cubital crease, in the depression anterior to the medial epicondyle of the humerus
METHOD: Perp 0.3-0.5 inch (Ess).

Ht 5 Tongli  **
FUNCTIONS: Calms spirit and regulate He Qi. Very good to bring down  Fire from the Heat caused by mental irritation. Special for aphasia.
INDICATIONS
1. Sore throat. Sudden hoarseness of voice. Aphasia with  stiffness of the tongue. Hysterical aphasia. Cough. Asthma.
2. Palpitation.. Chest pain. Bradycardia .
3. Dizziness. Psychosis. Blurring of vision.
4. Pain in the wrist and arm.
5. Neurasthenia.
LOCATION: When the palm faces upward, the point is on the radial side of the tendon of the muscle flexor carpi ulnaris, 1 cun above the transverse crease of the wrist.
METHOD:  Perp 0.3-0.5 inch (Ess)

Ht 7 Shenmen **
FUNCTIONS:  Calm the Heart and spirit, clears Jingluo. Sedative function
INDICATIONS
1. Irritability. Mental illness.. Seizures. Poor memory. Hysteria.. Insomnia.. Absent mindedness. Excessive dreaming. Neurasthenia.
2. Angina pectoris. Palpitation.. Heart disease.
3. Pain in the hypochondriac region. Paralysis of the hypoglossus muscle.
4. Yellowish sclera.
5. Feverish sensation in the palm.
LOCATION: On the transverse crease of the wrist, in the articular region between the pisiform bone and the ulna, in the depression on the radial side of the tendon of the muscle flexor carpi ulnaris.
METHOD: Perp 0.3-0.5 inch (Ess).

Ht 8 Shaofu **
FUNCTIONS: Calms the Spirit and regulates Heart Qi.
INDICATIONS
1. Palpitation.. Angina pectoris. Rheumatic heart disease. Cardiac arrthythmia.
2. Dysuria.. Enuresis.. .
3. Twitching and contracture of the little finger. Feverish sensation in the palm.
4. Hysteria.
5.  Skin pruritus.

LOCATION: On the palmar surace, between the 4th and 5th metacarpal bones. When a
fist is made, the point is where the tip of the little finger rests.
METHOD: Perp 0.3-0.5 inch (Ess).

Secondary Points

Ht 2 Qingling *
INDICATIONS
1. Pain in the hypochondriac region. Pain in the shoulder and arm.. Intercostal nueralgia.
2. Yellowish scera..
LOCATION: When the elbow is flexed, the point is 3 cun above the medial end of the
transverse cubital crease (Shaohai, Ht 3), in the groove medial to the biceps
brachii.
METHOD: Perp 0.3-0.5 inch (Ess)

Ht 4 Lingdao *
INDICATIONS
1. Contracture of the elbow and arm. Neuralgia of the ulnar  nerve.
2. Cardiac pain. Chest pain.
3. Convulsion. Psychosis. Hysteria.
4. Sudden hoarseness of voice.
LOCATIONS: On the radial side of the tendon of the muscle flexor carpi ulnaris, 1.5
cun above the transverse crease ofthe weist when the palm faces upward.
METHOD: Perp 0.3-0.5 inch (Ess).

Ht 6 Yinxi *
FUNCTIONS: Important point for sweating with Fuliu- Xi point for acute disorders. Removes mucus from Heart.
INDICATIONS
1. Night sweating.. Neurasthenia. Hysteria.
2. Cardiac pain. Palpitations.
3. Pulmonary tuberculosis.
LOCATION: On the radial side of the tendon of the muscle flexor carpi ulnaris, .5
cun above the trasverse crease of the wrist.
METHOD: Perp 0.3-0.5 inch (Ess)

Ht 9 Shaochong *
FUNCTIONS:  Tonify Heart Qi. Good for vaginal discharge.
INDICATIONS
  Mental disorders (Ess), loss of consciousness (Ess),
apoplectic coma (Sha), hysteria (Sha), infantile convulsions (Sha)
PC/HEART Palpitation (Ess,Sha), cardiac pain (Ess), pain in the chest and
hypochondriac region (Ess)
 Febrile diseases (Ess,Sha)
LOCATION: On the radial side of the little finger, about .1 cun posterior to the
corner of the nail.
METHOD: Puncture obliquely .1 inch, or prick with three edged needle to cause
bleeding (Ess).
